Continuing our discussion from the earlier write-up on this topic, it is stated that the concept of longevity (length of life) can be divided as under i.e. in five groups:

i) Early death – Balarishta – from the day of birth upto the age of 7-8 years.

ii) Short life – Alpayu – practically from 8 years to 31-32 years.

iii) Middle Life – from 32 years to 60 years.

iv) Old age death – from 60 to 80 years.

v) Full Life – Puran Ayu – from 80 to 120 years.

2. In this write – up, focus shall be on `Balarishta’ early death of the child. The following combinations in the birth chart indicate early death. It is mentioned that you must not arrive at a hurried conclusion (jumping on the conclusion as even the following combinations may not result in death as there may be `SAVERS’ in the horoscope). Hence the need for full delineation of the Horoscope before any pronouncement is made-rather the pronouncements must be well-guarded pronouncements.

i) If the Moon occupies the 8^th, 12^th or 6^th house and is aspected by malefic Rahu, the native dies early.

ii) Both the mother and child are likely to die, near about the delivery, if the Moon conjoins with Saturn and when the Sun is 12^th house and Mars is in the 4^th house. Similar situations about the death of mother and child are indicated when the Moon is in Lagna with no benefit aspect and is hemmed by malefics.

iii) Mother and child dies in the following combinations also:

a) Where 6^th/8^th/12^th houses are occupied bymalefics with no benefic associations and Venus/Jupiter are in the grip of malefics.

b) If malefics occupy the 1^st/6^th/7^th/8^th house from Lagna.

c) If the ecliped Moon joins Saturn in Lagna and Mars occupies the 8^th house.

iv) Early death of child in days/weeks/months is indicated in the following combination:

a) If malefics occupy the 6^th/12^th houses.

b) Malefic (waning) moon with a malefic planet in a kendra or the 8^th house.

c) Benefic planets (weak) aspected by malefics occupying 6^th or 8^th house from Lagna (death within a month or so).

d) When the Sun, Mars and Saturn conjoin in the 6^th/8^th houses from Lagna without benefic associations/conjunctions/aspects.

e) Some time even the Sun, Mars and Saturn in 5^th house are responsible for early death of the child.

f) Lagna Lord conjoins the Sun and the 8^th Lord.

g) If malefics occupy the Lagna and the 7^th house and the Moon conjoined with a malefic is not aspected by a benefic.

h) With waning Moon in 12^th house and all malefics in the 8^th house.

i) Moon and Rahu conjoin with a malefic and Mars occupy the 8^th house. If this combination has Sun in Lagna, death may happen after operation.

v) Death in 3 years after birth:

i) When a retrograde planet occupies 6^th/8^th house or Kendra in a rign ruled by Mars and also aspected by Mars.

ii) When the Moon and Mars occupy the Lagna in Cancer and there are no planets in 4^th, 7^th, 8^th and 10^th houses.

vi) Death of the child in 4^th year or so:

a) If the 6^th/8^th house is Cancer and is occupied by Mercury and aspected by the Moon.

b) Rahu in Lagna aspected/conjoined only by malefics.

vii) Death in 6 to 8 years of birth:

a) Venus in Leo or Cancer in the 6^th/8^th/12^th houses aspected by malefics.

b) Lagna afflicted by Mars and Saturn and 7^th house is occupied by the waning Moon.

c) Saturn, Mars and Venus in Lagna without Jupites’ aspect and the waning Moon is in the 7^th houses.

d) Benefics in 6^th or 8^th houses and malefics in 5^th and 9^th houses-(death in 8^th year or so).

3. As already indicated, the horoscope need to be fully studied. Danger of death in childhood is averted in the following combinations.

a) If the Moon is full Moon, exalted Moon or in a beneric sign, or in Navamsa.

b) When strong Lagna Lord is in Kendra in association/aspect/conjunction of a benefic and not aspected by any malefic.

c) Jupiter/Venus/Mercury in Kendras without any malefic aspect.

d) Jupiter alone in Lagna, 5^th or 9^th house.

e) Strong Jupiter alone in Kendra gives the needed protection.

f) If the birth is during the night of the lunar month (Shukla Paksha) or during the day in the dark half of the lunar month (Krishan Paksha), the child liveslong even when the Moon is in 6^th or 8^th house.

g) Exalted Moon (Taurus) aspected by Venus i.e. Venus aspecting own sign.

h) Three planets aspecting their signs or in their exaltation positions save the child from early death.

i) Lagna Lord, strongly placed in a Kendra or Trine, neutralizes the afflictions for early death.

j) Rahu in Lagna in Aries, Taurus or Cancer aspected by benefics saves the child.

Overseas journey is indicated by the sub-lord of the 12th cusp. The 12th cusp has to be related to the 3rd and the 9th cusps; also the 12th house itself should have good positional strength.

Today, every individual looks forward to a foreign assignment. As per the Parasara system, the houses 3, 9 and 12 signify travel. My research has shown that the 8th house also plays a very important role in deciding travel abroad. The 8th house, is the 11th from the 10th. If we go into the scriptures of the past, associations of the 8th house and travel abroad are always signified as ‘Kala Pani', ‘ Desh Nikala' or to be deported across the ocean. i.e. at that time, it meant that being displaced from the place where you are born and wandering in foreign lands was not a very happy situation, which was related to the value systems. The 8th house and its association with other houses like the 4th (for leaving family behind) and the 7th (for being separated from wife) need to be analysed.

For deciphering the Astro indicators for foreign assignment, let us study a horoscope as per the K.P.System.

According to the KP system, overseas journey is indicated by the sub-lord of the 12th cusp. The 12th cusp has to be related to the 3rd and the 9th cusps; also the 12th house itself should have good positional strength.

In the above chart, the sub-lord of the 12th cusp is Jupiter. He is the lord of the 3rd and the 6th, posited in its own constellation. Therefore, the sub-lord of the 12th cusp is a significator of the 3rd, 6th and the 1st houses. Jupiter aspects the 9th aspect. The native, therefore, is fortunate and will go abroad.

Purpose of travel

The purpose for which he will go abroad has to be ascertained from the lord of the 6th house (i.e. 9th from the 10th house and the 11th from the 8th house). Here, this again is Jupiter and is posited in its own star. This shows that the native will go abroad on an assignment. The native left abroad for a job, offered by a foreign firm.

3, 9 and 12 bhavas

Sun is in its own star, in the 3rd bhava. No planet is in the constellation of Jupiter (3rd and 6th lord), Mercury and Mars. Ketu alone is in the Sign of Mars.

No planet is in the 9th bhava. Jupiter aspects the 9th.

· 12th bhava is occupied by Moon. Rahu is in the star of Moon lord of the 12th cusp is Mercury. No planet is in the star of Mercury.

Sun, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Rahu and Moon have helped the native on his foreign journey.

The native left for abroad on 15 January 1976. At that time, he was running Jupiter dasa, Rahu Antara, Rahu Pratyantara and Jupiter Sookshma. Both Jupiter and Rahu associated with 3, 9 and 12.

Dasa lord Jupiter was transiting in pisces, with fortunate trine aspect to its natal position. He is in the star of Mercury and the sub of Mars.

Antar (Bukthi) lord Rahu was in Libra conjoining with the natal Jupiter, and posited in the star of Jupiter, in mercury sub.

The day was ruled by Jupiter. Moon was transiting in Arudra, Rahu's star on that day.

Dr. Shanker Adawal (Jyotishaacharya, PHD, MBA)In general terminology, HORA is the hour i.e. 1/24^th part of the day/night circle. In other words, the twenty four hours are attributed to the planets governing each Hora from sun-rise to sun-set.

There are various methods for determining HORA but the generally accepted and easy method is to arrive at the Hora with reference to sun-rise time and the day. Each Day (Monday, Tuesday etc.) has its own Hora i.e. the first Hora goes to the Lord of the day, for example, for Sunday, the ruling planet is the SUN and the first hora would start from the time of sun-rise. For example, the Sun rises on 29^th June, 1997 at the circle. This would be clear from the following:

29.6.1997 – Sun-rise 5.25 A.M. First Hora of the day (Sunday would belong to the Sun, 2^nd to the Venus and 3^rd to Mercury and so on –

In view of simple method and knowing the placement of the planets, you may work out hora for any day at any moment.

For an astrologer, particular Hora is more important for giving predictions and also knowing the time (auspicious or inauspicious) when consulter is coming to consult. Even otherwise when a person comes to the Astrologer without appointment, fix the Hora and know about the ruling planet and its effects.

Mrs. Saturn and the Moon are strong during the night. The Sun, Jupiter and Venus are strong during the day time while Mercury is always considered to be strong. The lord of the day is well known and requires no explanation. With reference to English Calendar, Hora is a period of one hour from Sun-rise to the next Sunrise. In simple words, Horas for a day are 24 hours corresponding to present day English hours. Every Hora – would change after 7 days under the lordship of the ruling planet in the order indicated above.

In the above example, we had started with Sunday and next Hora for the next day falls under the Moon i.e. the Monday, accordingly, calculation is also checked.

The effects of the Hora would of course depend on the Panchang i.e. Tithi, Var, Karan, Yoga and Nakshtra but a quick assessment can be given by Hora and its ruling planets. The Astrologer may also keep mental note of planetary position ruling the day specially the Moon’s transit. General effects for each Hora are given below:

Sun’s Hora – The native may be interested in connection with Government affairs including VIPs or his promotion or transfer specially when he is in Government service. The astrological combination would make the Astrologer to give results with reference to the placement of the Sun in various signs. The Sun in Aries would make the native to be ambitious and holding of high position. Accordingly, questions regarding all business/partnerships/corporate sector would come under the Sun’s Hora-rather all matters for which the Sun is the significator.

Moon’s Hora – Depending on the placement of other planets, success is indicated and work is being done. Accordingly astrologer can speak about the coming success for all questions relating to profession/business/marriage etc. All matters including liquids would come under this Hora.

Mar’s Hora – The work will be done with difficulties. Ups and downs will come the way of the native. If Mars happen to be in Aries – Aswini Nakshtra, hot-temper and cruel nature of the native cannot be ruled out. During this question time, the native may have to face problems about their children specially about the marriage etc.

Mercury’s Hora – Normally considered to be good unless the Mercury is combust/retrograde or is aspected by malefics. Chances would be bright to get the work done including meeting with VIPs. Benefits from communications and awaited message would come. The Mercury is Lord of trading activity and therefore speak of obstacles in business etc. All matters signified by Mercury would come under the ambit of this Hora.

Jupiter Hora – This is Hora of benefic planet. Accordingly, the work will be done and lost goods/cash would be restored. The person will have to be advised to seek mental peace by recourse to religious matters/mantras etc. The native may be interested in knowing about other person may be partner/senior/relation etc.

Venus Hora- The native may come out of unexpected troubles. Bright chances for love/romance unless the Venus is not well placed. Questions regarding films/T.V. etc. would prove favourable. Trading in diamonds etc. would be beneficial. Link all matters signified by Venus.

Saturn’s Hora – The native may be worried on account of cheating/theft etc. He may have to wait for the recovery of the lost goods. Increase in enemies cannot be ruled out. All type of troubles, loss in finance, sickness may come the way and disturb mental peace. All progress will be show and the achievement would take some time.

If you don’t consider the present – day High-profile society engaged at midnights (refer to the reported murder of Jasica Lal and a subsequent write up on such late night parties (Wednesday to Saturday-entry by code number etc. in the Hindustan Times dated 9^th May, 99), still in India moral character of the spouce need to be maintained. Few person with perverted sex combinations cannot destroy the traditions and well laid foundations with regard to behaviour and character of wife.

2. Do not cherish any idea about your wife after reading the following astro analysis as the combinations speak of possibilities and may not happen at all on account of other position of planets, Nakshtra, day of birth, tithi of birth and so on. Further, the author takes no responsibility for any action one may take in any walk of his/her life.

3. Astrologically, moral character of wife of a person is to be judged from 7^th house Lagna, the Sun, the Moon and Venus apart from the Lord of 7^th house. The wife of a person is likely to have a loose character if the 7^th house is a house owned by Mars or Saturn and is aspected by Mars/Saturn/Rahu without aspect etc. of Jupiter or other benefic. The character of wife shall be questionable when an afflicted Mars is in the 7^th house, or Mars is hemmed by malefics without conjunction or aspect of any benefic.

4. Mercury, normally a neutral planet, is also responsible at times for loose character of wife. When afflicted, combust and malefic not Mercury in the 7^th house and is under the benefic influence of Jupiter etc. the character of wife is stated by sages to be that of immoral.

5. Briefly, the following combinations become responsible for questionable/immoral character of wife:

i) When the Moon is in the 7^th house in debilitation (Scorpio is the place for debilitation of the Moon) or the Moon gets to the house of an enemy and is afflicted.

ii) When the waning Moon in the 7^th house is in debilitation and is under the influence of malefics and is in the house of enemy.

iii) When the Moon is in opposition to Mars or Saturn and is situated in the Mars/Saturn. This principle need to be verified.

iv) When Mercury is lord of the 7^th house, is in debilitation or is in the house of enemy and situated in inauspicious houses i.e. 6^th or 8^th and is afflicted hemmed by malefics.

v) The evil effects may be minimized in (iv) if the combination is guarded in any manner by Jupiter.

vi) When the Mercury (iv above) is heavily afflicted, the wife may either get separated/divorced view depending on the position of her own Moon, may also kill the husband.

vii) When Mercury is afflicted/combust etc. and the 7^th house is of Saggitarius (Dhanu) or of Pisces (Meena) – both the signs belong to Jupiter representative of husband and it has to be seen what is the strength of Jupiter.

viii) When the 7^th house either belong to Mars or Saturn and 7^th house is occupied by Venus and Moon.

ix) Sixth house rules extra-marital relations apart from the 12^th house. But position of planets in the 6^th, 7^th and 8^th house is very important in knowing about the character etc. of wife. See the relation of 6^th Lord with 7^th Lord and if both are under the influence of Mars/Saturn/Rahu or other malefics. In such a situation wife may have a paramour unless these planets are protected by benefics specially Jupiter. In some cases it has been seen that situation of a malefic in 6^th house also suggest that paramour in the life of the native.

x) When the lords of 6^th, 8^th and 9^th houses are in one house aspected by malefics or conjoined with malefics.

xi) When the lord of 5^th is in 6^th house and also afflicted by malefics, apart from illicit relations, even child may be from paramour of the wife.

xii) When the lord of the 7^th house joins the lord of the 6^th house and is afflicted by malefics, they result into a paramour in the life of the wife.

6. Without multiply the combinations, it would be better if position is explained by the following two horoscopes and even placement of few planets may justify unchaste character of the wife.

In Chart o. 1 the horoscope belong to a person whose wife had found to be of loose character and she also had a paramour. See afflicted Mercury is the load of 7^th house and is conjoined with 6^th Lord Venus. Saturn afflices by aspect. 6^th House ruling extra-marital life of the wife is conjoined by two malefics Mars and Ketu. Seventh house of Venus is conjoined with Saturn and is aspected by Rahu and other malefics.

This Chart No. 2 also belong to person whose wife had been found to be of a questional character. 7^th house from both Lagna and Venus is hemmed between and 7^th Lord is afflicted by aspect of Saturn and Rahu. Malefic planet Saturn in the 6^th add to the combination. Separation between husband and wife indicate in view of paramour’s involvement – Venus Lagna lord, Mars, lord of 7^th house, involvement of 6^th and 8^th house.
